چکیده

bombay being a great commercial centre and the largest port in the East, is always? liable to have various infectious diseases introduced from other countries. Besides being the gate-way of India, it is also a gate-way of infection for India. This has been repeatedly proved by the admission into this country of such diseases as plague, influenza, etc., during the last few years through Bombay. But the opposite is the case with cholera, as it is mostly introduced into this city from other parts of India such as Lower Bengal, Pandharpur, Nasik and such places, where cholera is always hanging about, and flares up any time under favourable epidemiological conditions and when large numbers of people are collected during various fairs.
